Employees who telework from home on occasion are far happier than those compelled to commute and put in "face time" at the office every day, according to a study released this week.
Engagement, productivity and retention levels shoot up when employees have the option of working from home, said Kenexa Corp., a Pennsylvania-based firm that specializes in recruitment and retention.
However, most bosses still want their direct reports to travel to the office and toil under the watchful eyes of management.
